Use the form to specify the loading to be analyzed.
Name: Use the default or specify another name for the request definition using this edit box.
Notes Modify/Show button. Click this button to access the Rating Request Notes form. Use that form to add notes related to the bridge requests to the bridge model. Type the notes directly into the large text box area.
Bridge Object drop-down list. Choose the bridge object to which the design request applies.
Rating Type drop-down list. Use this drop-down list to specify the type of rating to be completed (e.g., Flexural capacity check, Shear capacity check). The names of the Range Type indicate the bridge deck section to which they apply: Conc Box indicates that it is for one of the seven Concrete Box Girder types, with prestressing defined; PCComp indicates that it is either the Precast I girder or Precast U girder, with prestressing defined. If a bridge object for this design request has more than one type of section, only those stations having the specified type of section will be designed; other stations will be omitted from design results for this request.
Station Ranges. Use this spreadsheet type area to specify the range or ranges of stations to be designed. Typically this would be the entire bridge object; however, these items allow restriction of the area to be designed. Design is performed before and after each section cut, as defined by the discretization specified using the Bridge > Update command and by user discretization points in the Bridge Object.
Location Type drop-down list. Choose to specify that the data be calculated Before the Point being specified, After the Point being specified or Both before and after the point specified as the Start and End Stations or user define intermediate points.
Start Type drop-down list. Click in area and choose Bridge Start or User Defined. If User Defined, use the Start Station edit box to specify the location of the starting station. This location is measured from left to right, from the beginning of the bridge.
End Type drop-down list. Click in area and choose Bridge End or User Defined. If User Defined, use the End Station edit box to specify the location of the end station. This location is measured from left to right, from the beginning of the bridge.
Add and Delete buttons. When the location(s) and start/end type(s) have been selected, click the Add button to add the specified range. To remove a location(s) and start/end type(s), highlight the data row, and click the Delete button.
Design Rating Parameters Modify/Show button. Click this button to display the Superstructure Design Request Parameters - {Code} form. That form identifies the design parameters specified, including stress and shear factors, material properties and the like.
Demand Sets. Use this spreadsheet type area to specify demand sets, which consist of load combinations and design parameters.
Name. Use the default or type a revised name in this cell.
Combo drop-down list. Click in this cell to reveal a drop-down list of previously defined load combinations. Use of this combination would be of an envelope type, in which case the design is performed individually for each combo contained in the envelope. If the combination is not an envelope type, the combination itself is designed.
Parameters link. Click this cell to display the Superstructure Design Request Demand Parameters - {Code}/{Design Factor} form. Use that form to specify demand parameters.
Add and Delete buttons. When the set name, combination, and parameters have been selected, click the Add button to add the demand set to the model. To remove a set, highlight an item in the row, and click the Delete button.
