Bridge Layout Line from General Reference Line Form

Use the options on the Bridge Layout Line from General Reference Line form to select the general reference line and specify the beginning of the bridge layout line and any x, y, or z offset of the layout line from the general reference line.

Select a General Reference Line
- General Reference Line drop-down list. Choose the general reference line to be used for defining the layout line by clicking on it in this drop-down list.
- Start Station and End Station display boxes. The values shown cannot be edited. They show the start and end stations of the general reference line.
First Station on Bridge Layout Line The bridge layout line always runs the full length of the general reference line. If desired, the bridge layout line can have different stationing from the general reference line by specifying a user first station for the bridge layout line.
- Same As Start Location on General Reference Line option. When this option is selected, stationing on the bridge layout line and the general reference line are the same.
- User First Station option and associated edit box. When this option is selected, the user can specify the beginning station for the layout line by entering a distance/length value in the edit box.
Offset of Bridge Layout Line From General Reference Line
- Offset Coordinate System drop-down list. Use this drop-down list to select another coordinate system for orienting the bridge layout line, assuming that a coordinate system other than global has been defined.
- Offset X, Offset Y, Offset Z edit box. Use these edit boxes to specify the offset of the layout line from the general reference line. These distance values are in the currently specified units.

Click the OK button to display the Bridge Layout Line Data form; use the form to review, revise and complete the definition of the bridge layout line, including providing a name for the layout line.

Access the Bridge Layout Line from General Reference Line form as follows:

Use the Advanced > Draw > More > Draw/Edit General Reference Line command to draw a general reference line.
Click the Layout > Layout Lines > Expand arrow command, or on the Bridge Wizard highlight the Layout Line item and click the Define/Show Layout Lines button, to display the Define Bridge Layout Line form.
Click the Add New From Gen Ref Line button to display the Bridge Layout Line from General Reference Line form.

Note: Multiple layout lines can be defined based on a general reference line or lines, if desired, by repeating steps 2 and 3 above. Highlighting the name of a layout line definition based on a general reference line on the Define Bridge Layout Line form and clicking the Add Copy of Layout Line or the Modify/Show Layout Line button will display the Bridge Layout Line Data form for that layout line, not the Bridge Layout Line from General Reference Line form.
