Form: Shell Load Assignment - Uniform
Select one or more shell objects to which the uniform load is to be assigned.
Click the Assign menu > Shell > Uniform command to display the Shell Load Assignment - Uniform form.
Use the following drop-down lists, edit box and options to specify the uniform load:
Load Pattern Name drop-down list. Select the name of a defined load pattern to which the specified uniform loading is to be assigned. Note that the Define menu > Load Pattern command is used to define load patterns.
Load edit box and Direction drop-down list. Enter a Load value and select a Direction from the drop-down list. Note that the Gravity direction is taken to be in the negative Global Z direction. To enter a load in the gravity direction, enter a positive number if the direction is set to Gravity.
Options
Add to Existing Loads: Adds the specified uniform load to the shell object. If one or more uniform load assignments have already been made, this option increases the existing uniform load, assuming a positive load is being specified.
Replace Existing Loads: Replaces the currently specified uniform load, if any, with the new uniform load. If no assignment exists, the new assignment is still made. This is the default option.
Delete Existing Loads: Deletes any and all uniform load assignments made to the selected shell object(s). When this option is selected, the items in the Load edit box and Direction drop-down list are ignored when the Apply button is clicked.
Note that the default option is Replace and that the program defaults to this every time the form is opened.
Click the Apply button to complete the assignment.
When the Apply button is used, the Shell Load Assignment - Uniform form will remain open until it is closed by clicking the Close button. This allows selection of another frame object(s), to which another assignments can be made.<="">
If only one assignment is being made to only one set of selected objects, the OK button can be used to both apply the assignment and close the form.
