Time History Function Definition - User Defined

For a user defined periodic function, specify the time and function values for each cycle of a function. Add a user defined  time history function as follows:

• Time History Function Name edit box. Use the default or specify another name for the time history function by typing directly in the edit box.

• Define Function area.

• Add button.

  1. Use the edit boxes to enter the Times and Values for each cycle of the function

  2. Click the Add button. Note that a graph displays in the Function Graph area of the form.

  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until all data has been entered.

• Modify button.

• 1. Highlight the set to be modified. Note that those values appear in the edit boxes.

  2. Type the modification into the appropriate edit box.

  3. Click the Modify button.

• Delete button.

• 1. Highlight the set to be deleted.

  2. Click the Delete button.

• Function Graph area. This area displays a graph of the function. It updates automatically as additional points are defined for the function. Run the mouse pointer over the function graph and a dot appears along the line representing the time history function. The coordinates of the dot are reported in the box just below the graph. In some cases it may be necessary to click the Display Graph button after making changes to the form to display or update the graphical display.

Access the Time History Function Definition - User Defined form to add a user function as follows:

1. Click the Define menu > Functions > Time History command to access the Define Time History Functions form. Then do one of the following:

   • Select User from the Choose Function Type to Add drop-down list; click the Add New Function button.

   • Highlight an existing User function definition in the Functions display area and click the Modify/Show Spectrum button.
