Frame Property Export to XML File Form

Use the Frame Property Export to XML File form to select the sections and Auto Select lists to be exported to an XML file. This program feature is valuable when sections or Auto Select lists have been created in one model file and the same sections or Auto Select lists need to be reused (imported)  in another model file.

• Description Item in XML File comment area.  Use this area of the form to add a descriptive comment about the .xml file or its contents (or both). This is intended to help you identify the file after export.

• Filter for List of Available Sections

• • Type drop-down list. Use this drop-down list to focus the list of Available Sections to a selected shape (e.g., Channel, Angle and so on).

  • Filter edit box.  Use the edit box to limit the display of sections using specified criteria. To remove a filter, select ALL in the Type drop-down list.

• XML File Units - Length and Force drop-down lists. Use these drop-down lists to specify the units to be used in the .xml file.

• Available Sections and Sections to be Exported display areas. The sections available for exporting are listed in the Available Sections display area. If a filter has been applied, the list will match the filter criterion. Highlight a section name(s) and click the top double arrow button to "move" that section into the Sections to be Exported display area. Conversely, highlight a section name(s) in the Sections to be Exported display area and click the lower double arrow button to "remove" the section from the sections to be exported. Moving a  section definition from one list to the other does not change the model file. With a section name highlighted, clicking the Show button will display the Frame Section Property Data form for that section.

Display the Frame Property Export to XML File as follows:

1. Click the Define menu > Section Properties > Frame Sections command to access the  Frame Properties form.

2. Click the Export Properties to XML File button.
