Advanced Link P-Delta Parameters Form

Use the Advanced Link P-Delta Parameters form to specify the minor and major moments for the I End and J End of the link. Enter values in the edit boxes such that the values entered, plus the program calculated P-Delta as shear couple, equal 1 (see note below).

• Minor Moment

• • M2 P-delta to I end of link as moment (M2I)

  • M2 P-delta to I end of link as moment  (M2J)

• Major Moment

• • M3  P-delta to I end of link as moment  (M2I)

  • M3 P-delta to I end of link as moment  (M2J)

Click the Update Values button to calculate the value for {M2, M3} P-delta as shear couple based on the values entered for {M2, M3} P-delta to the I end as moment  plus {M2, M3} P-delta to the J end as moment, such that the three values combined equal 1, for both the Minor and Major moments.

Access the Advanced Link P-Delta Parameters  form as follows:

1. Click the Define menu >  Section Properties > Link/Support Properties command to access the Define Link Properties form.

2. Click the Add New Property button or highlight an existing definition and click the Modify/Show Property button to access the Link Property Data form.

3. Click the P-Delta Parameters Modify/Show button.
