Use the Design Diagrams for { Beam Number} at {StoryID} form to display the following four types of diagrams for the beam.
Applied loads
Shear diagram
Moment diagram
Deflection diagram
Choose to plot diagrams for the Load Case, Load Combination, or Modal Case; then use the drop-down lists to specify the specific load case, load combination, and mode number, where applicable. Also select the Major, Minor or Axial Component to be plotted.
Select the Show Max option to identify the location and value of the maximum load on each of the diagrams.
Select the Scroll for Values option to view the load values at various locations on the diagram. Move the vertical scroll along the diagrams using click and drag.
Specify if the Deflection is Absolute, Relative to the Fame Minimum, Relative to Beam Ends or Relative to Story Minimum. These reference points are assumed to be self explanatory.
Access the Design Diagrams for {Beam Number} at {StoryID} form as follows:
Select the Analyze menu > Run Analysis command to analyze the model.
Select the Design menu > {Composite Beam, Steel Joist} Design > Start Design/ Check command.
Right click on a beam while the design results are displayed to enter the interactive design mode and interactively design the beam using the Interactive Composite Beam Design and Review form or the Interactive Steel Joist Design form. If results are not currently displayed, click the Design menu > Composite Beam Design > Interactive Composite Beam Design command to enter the interactive design mode and access the Interactive Composite Beam Design and Review form or the Design menu > Steel Joist Design > Interactive Steel Joist Design command to enter the interactive design mode and access the Interactive Steel Joist Design form.
Click the Diagrams button.
