The Design menu > {Steel Frame, Concrete Frame, Composite Beam, Steel Joist} Design > Verify Analysis vs Design Section command is useful for verifying that the last used analysis section and the current design section are the same for all {Steel Frame, Concrete Frame, Composite Beam, Steel Joist} elements in the model. This is important because when the iterative design process is complete, the last used analysis section property for a frame element and the current design section property for that frame element should be the same. If this is not the case, the frame element may not have been designed for the correct forces.
Run what appears to be the final analysis and design iteration.
Click the Design menu > {Steel Frame, Concrete Frame, Composite Beam, Steel Joist} Design > Verify Analysis vs Design Section command. It is not necessary to select any elements before using the Verify Analysis vs Design Section command. This command automatically checks all frame sections assigned the {Steel Frame, Concrete Frame, Composite Beam, Steel Joist} procedure.
ETABS displays a message indicating how many frame elements with the {Steel Frame, Concrete Frame, Composite Beam, Steel Joist} design procedure have different analysis and design sections and then selects those frame elements, if instructed to do so.
Sections Do Not Match. If the message indicates that the sections do not match, select No so that ETABS does not select the elements; repeat Steps 1 and 2 until the sections do match. When that occurs, design is complete.
Sections Match. If the message indicates that the sections match, design is complete.
