Edit Towers, Stories and Grid Systems

Forms:  Edit Towers, Stories and Grid Systems; Quick Story Definition for New Tower; Tower, Story and Grid System Data

Note:  The Edit menu > Edit Towers, Stories, and Grid Systems command is available only if the Options menu > Allow Multiple Towers command is enabled.

Use the Edit menu > Edit Towers, Stories, and Grid Systems command to access the Edit Towers, Stories and Grid Systems form and add a tower structure to the model or modify or delete an existing tower definition. Note that the "T1" tower definition is created when the model file is initiated; this definition cannot be deleted.

The multiple towers feature allows multiple buildings to be modeled in a single model file. Every object in a model (i.e., columns, beams, floors, walls and so on) is associated with one and only one tower. If multiple towers have been defined in the model, the Properties of Object form can be used when objects are drawn to select the tower with which the object is associated. The Assign menu > Assign Objects to Towers command can be used to change that association assuming that it was incorrectly specified when the object was drawn in the model.

Note:  The Grid System Data form must be used to define the grid system for the new tower, or the tower will not have a grid system. Click the Add New Grid System button to bring up the Add New Grid System Quick form. Then highlight the newly specified system and click the Modify/Show Grid System button to display the Grid System Data form.
