ETABS offers the following export options:
File menu > Export > ETABS .e2k Text File command saves the model as a .e2k text input file. The file/model can be imported back into ETABS using the File menu > Import > ETABS .e2k Text File command.
File menu > Export > ETABS Tables to Excel command brings up the Choose Tables form; select the table types to be saved in a format compatible with Microsoft Excel.
File menu > Export > ETABS Tables to Access command brings up the Choose Tables form; select the table types to be saved in a format compatible with Microsoft Access.
File menu > Export > Partial ETABS .edb File command saves the file as an .ebd file. The command displays the Export Partial ETABS .edb File form, which as two options: Export Story and Export Selected Objects.
Export Story command. When the story is exported, the grid and all properties from the open model are exported along with the structural layout and assignments for the selected story.
Export Selected Objects command. When objects are selected before the command is used, this command exports those selected objects and their assignments in the structural layout along with the entire grid and all properties in the model.
File menu > Export > Story as SAFE V12.f2k File command saves the specified story as a SAFE compatible file.
Click the File menu > Export > Story as SAFE V12.f2k File command to display the Options for Export to SAFE form.
Select the Story to be exported and the Loads to Export.
Clicking the Select Load Cases to Export button will display the Load Cases Exported to SAFE form. Use that form to select the load cases to be exported to SAFE.
File menu > Export > Revit .exr File command to export a model to a Revit .exr file.
Click the File menu > Export > Revit .exr File command.
The Export ETABS Interchange Revit File form will appear; use the form to specify the filename and path for storing the exported file.
ETABS will display a confirmation that the file has been successfully exported.
File menu > Export > .DXF/.DWG File command. Clicking this command accesses the ETABS Drawing Generator form. Use the Export Drawing Generator form to specify the options needed to export an ETABS file in a .DXF/DWG file format, suitable for use by AutoCAD ive window.
File menu > Export > CIS/2 STEP File command exports the file using the CIMsteel Integration Standards (CIS). CIS is a set of formal computing specifications used in the steel industry to make software applications mutually compatible. This file type is often used by steel fabricators outside the United States.
File menu > Export > Steel Detailing Neutral File command is used to export a file using the Steel Detailing Neutral File computing specification standards. This file type is often used by steel fabricators in the United States.
File menu > Export > IFC File command generates column, beam, brace, slab and wall IFC entities in an IFC .ifc file format.
Click the File menu > Export >IFC File command to display the Create IFC File form.
Use the form to specify the file name and path for storing the exported file. Also specify the file format and select the model components to be included in or excluded from the export.
ETABS will display a confirmation that the file has been successfully exported.
File menu > Export > IGES .igs File command exports a model using the Initial Graphical Exchange Specification (IGES) format. IGES is a neutral exchange format for 2D and 3D models, drawings, and graphics. The exported file will have an .igs extension.
