When ETABS launches from the Windows Start menu or shortcut, the Start Page form will display unless the Show page at startup check box in the lower left-hand corner of the window has been unchecked during a previous program use. Similarly, unless the Connect online for updates check box is unchecked, the program will download updates when the program is launched assuming an online connection is available.
Toggle display of the page off and on by clicking the Options menu > Show Start Page at Startup command. To access the Start page while working with a model, click the Help menu > ETABS News or the Help menu > Watch & Learn command.
The Start Page provides the Open Existing Model and New Model commands, both of which are used to start a modeling session. Clicking on a model name in the Recent Models list efficiently opens the selected model file.
The Start Page also includes links to the Latest News, Resources, and Product Releases.
The Latest News provides links to upcoming events and news releases of recent activities sponsored by CSI and its affiliates to enhance users' experience working with CSI programs and to share industry and general information among the engineering community.

Tech Tips - Topics of interest are provides with links to more in-depth explanations of how to apply CSi software to aspects of engineering.
Watch & Learn demo videos -- A listing of the available Watch & Learn Movies is provided. The instructional videos are of varying lengths and on a range of topics. These videos can be invaluable to new users in learning how to maximize results while minimizing effort when working with ETABS.
Manuals -- A listing of the available manuals is provided. Clicking on a manual name will display that manual using Acrobat Reader.
Knowledge Base -- Clicking this resource links the user to the CSI Wiki, which provides an extensive knowledge base and offers users the opportunity to post comments and questions about the available topics.
Website -- Clicking this resource links the user to the CSI website, assuming the computer has Internet access.
The Product Releases lists the most recent enhancements to CSi's suite of innovative products.
