Form: Point Restraints
Use the Assign menu > Support Data > Point Restraints command to assign a restraint to a selected point object. A point restraint is a rigid connection of the point to the ground. Restraints are specified independently for each degree of freedom at a point. Restraints are always applied in the global coordinate system.
Select one or more point objects (points need not be in the datum plane, i.e., you may select the ends of columns and walls).
Click the Assign menu > Support Data > Point Restraints command to access the Point Restraints form, which allows restraints to be specified in one of the following ways:
Restraints in Global Directions: Check the boxes next to the degrees of freedom to be restrained. Uncheck the boxes for degrees of freedom that should not be restrained. These assignments will overwrite any previous assignments of restrained and unrestrained degrees of freedom for the selected point objects.
Fast Restraints: Use the fast restraints buttons to quickly check the restrained degrees of freedom for the following common conditions: Fully Supported; Pinned; Roller; and Fully Free.
