Expand Beam Group Form

Use the Expand Beam Group form to select individual beams to be extracted from the default beam grouping created by the program for model detailing. That is, the program automatically creates groups of similar beams and generates detailing for only one of the beams in the group. Beams are grouped based on the beam length, span lengths, cross-section size and so on. The reinforcement in the detailed beam is derived from the highest values at each location from all members of the group. This form makes it possible for a selected beam to be detailed individually.

Access the Expand Beam Group form as described below. Select the beam(s) to be removed from the group and detailed separately. The extracted beam will be added to the Individual Beam Views in the Object Views on the Detailing tab of the Model Explorer. The views from these new beams can then be added to the Drawing Sheets like any other detailed object views.

Note: The Beam ID shown on the Expand Beam Group form is displayed in the View: Framing Plan in parenthesis next to the Beam Group ID.  If the Beam ID is not displayed, click the Detailing menu > Beam Reinforcement Preferences command to display the Beam Detailing Preferences form. Check the Display Beam Sequence ID check box in the Numbering Format area on the General and Display tab of the form.
