Use the Slab Rebar Curtailment Rules form to specify the rules to be applied in detailing slab reinforcement. Use the form to specify parameters for the top and bottom bars at different locations. The data that can be modified includes:
The Shape of the end hooks to be used. Select Straight, 90 deg bend or 180 hook.
The length of the curtailed bar as a proportion of the clear or center-to-center span length.
The percentage of total reinforcement to be curtailed at the specified length.
Separate rules can be defined for slabs middle strips and columns strips, with or without drop panels, using the combo box at the top. This scheme is similar to the rules specified in various design codes.
Note: The changes in the curtailment rules may not affect the final detailing of bars directly due to the consideration of computed bar cut-off locations, development and minimum bar length limits, etc.
