Quick Draw Areas Around Points

Form: Quick Draw Area Around Points

Toolbar button:

Use the Draw menu > Quick Draw Areas Around Points command to add area objects with slab properties (or openings) to any point using a single click. This command facilitates the addition of drop panels and stiffened slabs to the model. This command works only in a plan view; it will not work with a 3D view.

Click the Draw menu > Quick Draw Areas Around Points command to access the floating Quick Draw Area Around Points form, which displays the parameters for the area to be added. If the Shape of Object is set to Rectangular Slab, modify the displayed data for Property, the X and Y Dimensions, and the Trim At Slab Edges options by selecting from the drop-down lists or typing directly into the edit boxes before drawing areas. Use the X Dimension and Y Dimension to preset the size of the area. Select from the Trim At Slab Edges drop-down list if the new area should be trimmed at the edge of an existing slab when it extends beyond.

If the Shape of Object is set to Circular Slab, modify the displayed data for Property and Diameter options by selecting from the drop-down list or typing directly into the edit box before drawing areas. Use the Diameter to preset the size of the area.

To place a slab area object in a plan view, click at a supported point. To exit the draw area around supported point mode, click on the Select Object button  or hit the Esc key to activate the select mode. Data associated with an area object can be reviewed and modified by right clicking on the area to access the {Type Area} Object Information form.
