Toolbar button:
Use the Draw menu > Select Object command to immediately switch to the select mode. With the program in select mode, objects can be selected graphically in the active display window using the mouse cursor. Selected objects are indicated by dashed lines, and only objects that are present in the active window can be selected graphically.
The Draw menu > Select Object command provides two methods for graphical selection:
By Pointer: Each mouse click on an object selects or deselects the object. Only one object at a time can be selected/deselected using this technique. If multiple objects lay one on top of the other, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard as you left click on the objects. When the Selection List form appears, click the name of the object you want to select in the list. Once an object is selected, clicking on it again using the “by pointer” technique will deselect it.
By Window: Draw a window around one or more objects to select them. If the mouse moves from left to right while dragging, only objects completely inside the window are selected. If the mouse moves from right to left while dragging, objects crossed by the rectangle will be selected. Window selections are additive; objects in the selection window that were previously selected will stay selected.
Items selected can be "released" by depressing the Esc key on the keyboard or by clicking the clr button on the SAFE toolbar.
