Form: Quick Tendon Layout
Use the Edit menu > Add/Edit Tendons > Add Tendons in Strips command to add tendons to selected design strips.
Note: The Quick Tendon Layout form also displays when the Flat Slab button is click on the New Model Initialization form and the Add P/T check box is checked and the P/T Data button is clicked. Also, when this method is used to access the Quick Tendon Layout form, the tendon layout can be None (see Layout Type drop-down list). That is, tendons can be added to only Layer A or only Layer B.
Select the design strips where tendons are to be added
Click the Edit menu > Add/Edit Tendons > Add Tendons in Strips command to access the Quick Tendon Layout form.
Layout Type: Select the layout type for the tendon(s) as Distributed or Banded.
Tendon Spacing or Band Width. Specify the Tendon Spacing if distributed or the Band Width if banded.
Tendon Property. Select the Tendon Property from the drop-down list.
Vertical Profile. Specify Reverse Parabola or Parabola for the tendon profile. The choice of vertical profile affects only the shape of the tendon over the supports; reverse parabola uses an inverted parabola over the supports while the parabola uses a horizontal line.
Maximum and Minimum Precompression Level (Force/Area) and for the Self Load Balancing Ratio. Use these edit boxes to specify the target ratios for how much self load the post-tensioning should balance.
A comprehensive description of the algorithms used by the program for determining the profile of the tendons and the amount of post-tensioning to apply to balance the self-load is described in the Post-Tensioned Concrete Design Manual (see Help menu > Documentation command, Design subdirectory).
Add Partial Tendons if Needed check box. Check this check box if tendons running less than the entire design strip may be added.
