Form: Assign Colors
The Options menu > Graphics Colors command accesses the Assign Colors form, which can be used to assign specific colors to objects in the model for three types of display: screen, printer, and color printer. Use the form to assign colors to contour lines used in displaying analysis results, to change the background color, and to reset default colors.
Color form. Use that form to change any of the default colors. Color selections can be returned to the defaults using the Reset All Defaults button, but as the name suggests, all default colors will be restored.
buttons. Click any of these buttons to access theNote: The Background item can be set to four individual colors to allow color gradation.
Contours. Click any of the color boxes in the Contours area to access the Color form and change any of the default contour colors. Contours are used in displaying analysis results.
Check the Show Values check box to display numeric values on the contour displays.
Check the Show Lines check box to display lines between contour gradients.
Check the Show Fill check box to fill the contours with color. See the discussion on Transparency below for information on the Transparency selection arrows..
Light. The Darkness drop-down list controls the variation of color (intensity of shading) when extruded shapes are displayed. The darkness value can range from 0 to 1 with 0 resulting in no variation and 1 providing maximum variation. The default setting is 0.5.
Check the Use Ambient Light check box if the model should be lit with an ambient light source. Click on the color box to change the color, and select the ambient light Intensity from the drop-down list. The intensity value can range from 0 to 1, with 0 resulting in no ambient light being applied.
Transparency. Control how much light passes through displayed surfaces. The transparency value can range from 0 to 1, with 0 resulting in the most opaque (little light is transmitted) and 1 providing complete transparency (clear). The default setting is 0.5.
Device Type. Indicate the type of output that will be used for the specified color settings. Choose Screen for on-screen, Printer, or Color Printer. Note that different display color settings can be specified for each of the three types of output.
Quick Color Scheme. Select a pre-defined color scheme from the drop-down list to display the color scheme on the Assign Colors form.
button. Click the button to restore the color setting to their defaults. Note that the button resets the colors for all three output types simultaneously.
