Form: Solid Material Temperature
Each solid object can be assigned an element material temperature. This is the temperature at which temperature-dependent properties are evaluated for the element.
Define a material property with temperature-dependent properties.
Use that material property in a solid property definition and then assign that property definition to a solid object(s).
Select the solid objects to be assigned a material temperature.
Click the Assign menu > Solid > Material Temperature command to access the Solid Material Temperature form. The material temperature can be a uniform temperature for the element or an average of the temperature for the joints as applied using a joint pattern.
Temperature option. Enter a temperature value in the Temperature edit box to specify a uniform temperature for the element. Be sure that the Joint Pattern drop-down list is blank.
Joint Pattern drop-down list. Enter a temperature value in the Temperature edit box and then select the joint pattern. With this option SAP2000 uses a uniform temperature that is the average of the joint values.
The properties at this fixed temperature are used for all analyses regardless of any temperature changes experienced by the element during loading.
