Use the Concrete Shell Section Quick Start Parameters form to specify the rebar material and size for a single layer or the top and bottom of a two-layer concrete shell object.
Section Name display box. This is the name given to the section on the Shell Section Layer Definition form.
Rebar Layers. Choose to specify one layer of rebar in the shell object or a shell object with a two layers (a top and a bottom layer of rebar).
One Layer option. When this option is selected, one layer of rebar will be modeled in the shell section.
Bars - Direction 1 and Bars - Direction 2 drop-down lists and edit boxes and Cover edit boxes. When the One Layer option is selected, these drop-down lists and edit boxes will appear on the form. Select the rebar size from the drop-down list and specify the spacing using the associated edit boxes. Specify the concrete cover in the current units.
Two Layer option. When this option is selected, a top and bottom layer of rebar will be modeled in the shell section.
Top Bars - Direction 1, Top Bars - Direction 2, Bottom Bars - Direction 1, Bottom Bars - Direction 2 drop-down lists and edit boxes and Cover edit boxes. When the Two Layer option is selected, these drop-down lists and edit boxes will appear on the form. Select the rebar size from the drop-down lists and specify the spacing using the associated edit boxes. Specify the concrete cover in the current units.
Size and Spacing is the Same for All Rebar check box. Check this check box to quickly specify that the sizes and spacing of all rebar be the same.
Units drop-down list. Use the displayed units for specifying the parameters on the form, or select different units from the drop-down list.
Concrete Material drop-down list and Allow Nonlinear check box. Use the drop-down list to select a previously defined material definition for the concrete material. Check the Allow Nonlinear check box to allow the concrete to have nonlinear behavior during analysis.
Rebar Material drop-down list and Allow Nonlinear check box. Use the drop-down list to select a previously defined material definition for the rebar material. Check the Allow Nonlinear check box to allow the rebar to have nonlinear behavior during analysis.
Concrete Thickness edit box. Use this edit box to specify the thickness of the concrete section.
In-Plane Element Component Behavior check boxes. Use these check boxes to specify which material components will be nonlinear.
Out-of-Plane Element Component Behavior options. Choose to specify if the out-of-plane behavior is the same as in-plane or if it is linear.
Shell Section Elevation View display area. Use this area of the form to display a 1-3, or 2-3 Elevation View of the rebar layout in the concrete shell object.
Shell Section Plan View display area. Choose to display the Top or Bottom plan view of the rebar layout in the concrete shell object.
When the OK button is clicked, the data entered on this form will automatically transfer to the spreadsheet area of the Shell Section Layer Definition form.
