Use the Tendon Quick Start Templates form to specify the tendon layout using template alignments.
Plane drop-down list. Choose the tendon line local plane for this tendon definition.
Modify Axes button and Angle display box. Click the Modify Axes button to display the Tendon Local Axis form. Use that form to rotate the tendon axis, as needed. This is an angle by which the local axis 2 of the element will be rotated around the local axis 1. The local axis 1 is along the length of the element. By default the local axis 2 is always in the 1-Z plane, except if the element is vertical and then it is parallel to the global X axis.
Number of Spans drop-down list. Choose the number of spans for the tendon from this drop-down list. Ten is the maximum.
Select a Quick Start Option. Select an option by clicking on it.
Click the OK button.
If a "Straight Tendon" or "Circular Tendon" option has been selected, the Tendon Data for Line Object form will redisplay with the selected option transferred automatically to it.
If a "Parabolic Tendon" option has been selected, the Define Parabolic Tendon Layout for Line Object {Number} form will display with the data for the selected option transferred automatically to the spreadsheet area of the form. Use that form to refine the tendon alignment as needed.
