Video Compression Form

Use the Video Compression form to choose a compressor to reduce the size of the final *.avi file.

  1. Choose the compression method by selecting an option from the Compressor drop-down list. By default, the Full Frames (Uncompressed) option is selected; as the name suggests, the file will uncompressed.

  2. If available and as necessary, use the Key Frame Every and Data Rate check boxes and edit boxes and the Configure button to specify parameters for the different compressors; the options available are specific to the type of compressor and are assumed to be self-explanatory.

  3. Click the OK button on the Video Compression form to create the *.avi file.

Access the Video Compression form as follows:

Method 1: Use this method when creating a Cyclic Animation Video

  1. Run an analysis

  2. Click the File menu > Create Video > Create Cyclic Animation Video to access the Animation Video File Creation form.

  3. Specify a name and path for saving the video and then define the duration, number of cycles, and frame size.

  4. Click the OK button to display the Video Compression form.

Method 2: Use this method when creating a Multi-Step Animation Video

  1. Define any load patterns or  time history functions needed and define and run a time history load case.

  2. Click the File menu > Create Video > Create Multi Step Animation Video to access the Multi-Step Video File Creation form.

  3. Specify a name and path for saving the video and then specify the load case, the start and end times and time increment, the display options and the file size.

  4. Click the OK button to display the Video Compression form.
