The Plates and Pipes Templates form has the following areas:
Select Object area. The available templates are listed by categories in this area (e.g., Plates, Pipes, Tubes, Pipe Supports, and so on). Click on a listed item to select it.
Object/Model View area. When a template is clicked in the Select Object area, SAP2000 display a drawing of the selected object in the Object/Model View area of the form. The type of view can be changed by clicking the Parametric View button, the Object View button, or the Model View button. The toolbar type buttons in this area of the form can be used to Restore a full view, change the "camera angle"/perspective on the view, Pan the view, and zoom in or out on the view.
Definitions spreadsheet area. When a template is clicked in the Select Object area, SAP2000 fills this spreadsheet with parameters that define the object and default values for those parameters for the selected object. Click in the Dimensions cell to type a revised dimension value.
Parameters and Options area. The options available in this area depend on the selection made in the Select Object area.
Max Mesh Size edit box. Use this edit box to specify the maximum size for meshing of the area objects used to define the selected object.
Close Hole check box. Check this check box to close the hole in an object that has a hole.
Close End check box. Check this check box to add a closure to objects that have ends.
Add To Current Model area. Use the edit boxes in this area to specify the Scale for the selected object in the X, Y and Z directions, or to Rotate the orientation of the object by a specified rotation angle, or to Move the placement of the object relative to the global X, Y, and Z.
Add Current Object button. Click this button to add the selected object to the model.
Remove Last Object button. Click this button to remove the last object added to the model. This button must be used before the OK button is clicked for it to be effective.
Clear Current Model button. Click this button to remove all objects added to the current model. This button must be used before the OK button is clicked for it to be effective.
When the OK button is clicked, SAP2000 initializes the new model using the specified parametric and model definition values.
