The View menu > Invert View Selection command inverts the objects displayed in a view. Any objects previously displayed in a view will no longer be visible, and objects previously not displayed will become visible. This command is typically used in conjunction with the View menu > Show Selection Only command. For example, assume that in a large model only a few objects are not to be displayed. In that case, it may be easier to select the few objects that are not to be displayed and then use the View menu > Show Selection Only command followed by the View menu > Invert View Selection command to refresh the display such that all objects are visible except for those few originally selected. If the view type in the window is changed, for example from a plan view to a 3D view, the objects displayed remain the same.
Note: Right clicking anywhere in an active window will display a drop-down menu of commands, including the Invert View Selection command. Clicking that command is the same as using the View menu > Invert View Selection command.
