Response Spectrum IBC2003 Function Definition Form

The following parameters are input for the IBC2003 response spectrum function. Any positive, nonzero value can be input for these parameters.

SDS =  The 5% damped design spectral response acceleration at short periods as specified in IBC2003 Section 1613.2.1.3.

SD1 =  The 5% damped design spectral response acceleration at a one second period as specified in IBC2003 Section 1613.2.1.3.

The IBC2003 response spectrum function is based on the procedure described in IBC2003 Section 1613.2.1.4.

 

Access the Response Spectrum IBC 2003 Function Definition form as follows:

 

Click the Loads > Functions Type > Response Spectrum > Expand arrow command, or on the Bridge Wizard click the Response Spectrum Functions item and click the Define/Show Resp Spec Funcs. button, to display the Define Response Spectrum Functions form. Then do one of the following:

    • Select IBC2003 Spectrum in the Choose Function Type to Add drop-down list and click the Add New Function button.

    • Highlight a previously defined IBC2003 Spectrum response spectrum function definition and click the Modify/Show Spectrum button.

Alternatively, click the Loads > Functions Type > Time History > New command and select IBC 2003 from the resulting form.
