Form: Frame Load Assignment - Open Structure Wind Parameters
Use the Assign menu > Frame Loads > Open Structure Wind Parameters command to access the Frame Load Assignment - Open Structure Wind Parameters form and specify wind load overwrites for selected frame objects.
TIP: Wind loading on open structures is defined using the Define menu > Load Pattern command, selecting ASCE (7-88, 7-95, 7-02, 7-05, 7-10) for the Auto Lateral Load, clicking the Add New Load button, highlighting the load and clicking the Modify Lateral Load button to display the Wind Load Pattern form and then selecting the Exposure from Frame and Shell Objects option and checking the Include Frame Objects (Open Structure) check box. Selected frames can then be assigned to the load pattern using the Assign menu > Frame Loads > Point or Assign menu > Frame Loads > Distributed commands.
Assign the wind load overwrites as follows:
Select the frame objects that have previously been assigned wind load and to which open structure wind parameters are to be assigned.
Click the Assign menu > Frame Loads > Open Structure Wind Parameters command to access the Frame Load Assignment - Open Structure Wind Parameters form.

Please refer to the appropriate code-related section of the CSi Lateral Loads Manual for more information. The Lateral Load Manual can be accessed using the Help > Documentation > Manuals command or by clicking the Help > ETABS News command to display the Start Page; click the Resources button, then the Manual button to display the various manuals.
