Shell Load - Uniform Load Sets

Form: Shell Assignment - Uniform Load Set

Shell uniform load sets are intended to assign loads based on the type of occupancy, e.g., hallway or office.  Such load sets may consist of several different load patterns and may contain loads from both dead and live load patterns.

Note: The load patterns should be defined using the Define menu > Load Patterns command before the shell uniform load sets are defined/assigned.

Assign uniform load sets to shell objects as follows:

  1. Select the shell object(s) to which the uniform load set is to be assigned.

  2. Click the Assign menu > Shell Loads > Uniform Load Sets command to access the Shell Load Assignment - Uniform Load Set  form.

  3. Select a uniform load set definition  from the display list and click the  Apply button to make the assignment. Any previously assigned  uniform load set definition will be replaced by this assignment. Note that the load acts in the gravity load direction.

To remove all assignments, select the shell object(s), highlight the None option, and click the Apply  button.

    Note that clicking the
Modify/Show Definitions button will display the Shell Uniform Load Sets form  which can be used to define a new uniform load set definition.

When the Apply button is used, the Shell Assignment - Uniform Load Set form will remain open until it is closed by clicking the Close button. This allows selection of another shell object(s), to which a different assignments can be made.

If only one assignment  is being made to only one set of selected objects, the
OK button can be used to both apply the assignment and close the form.

Note:  Only one uniform load set can be assigned to the selected shell object.
