Use the Material Mechanical Property Data form to define three values— one for each local axis direction— for the modulus of elasticity, shear modulus, coefficient of thermal expansion and Poisson's ratio. These values are used in material property definitions when the behavior of the material can be different in each of the three local coordinate directions, although shearing behavior is uncoupled from extensional behavior and is not affected by temperature changes.
Access the Material Mechanical Property Data form as follows:
Click the Define menu > Material Properties command to access the Define Materials form
Then do one of the following to access the Material Property Data form:
Click the Add New Material button to access the Add New Material Property form; specify a new property definition.
Highlight an existing definition and click the Add Copy of Material or Modify/Show Material button.
Select Orthotropic from the Directional Symmetry Type drop-down list.
Click the Modify/Show Mechanical Property Data button.
