Use the Live Load Reduction Factor Curves form to specify reduction factors by tributary area.
Live Load Reduction Factor Curve # drop-down list. The number of the current curve definition appears in this drop-down list.
Specify the Trib Area, Red. Factor, and DL/LL Ratio data for a curve.
Click the Add Curve button. This will add live load reduction factors to the model based on specified curve data (see below). ETABS automatically numbers the curves each time the Add Curve button is clicked.
Use the Live Load Reduction Factor Curve # drop-down list to select a curve, which will display the data on the form where the data can be reviewed, and when necessary, data can be added, modified or deleted.
Delete Curve button. Highlight the curve to be deleted; then click the Delete Curve button. Deleting a curve, deletes all of its associated curve data.
Curve Data Trib Area, Red. Factor and DL/LL Ratio edit boxes. Use these edit boxes to specify values for the Tributary Area, Reduction Factor, and the Dead Load/Live Load Ratio.
Add button.
Enter values in the Trib Area, Reduction Factor and DL/LL Ratio edit boxes. Only positive values are allowed.
Click the Add button. Repeat as necessary.
Modify button.
Select the Curve from the drop-down list for which Curve Data is to be modified.
Select the Trib Area and Red. Factor to be modified by clicking on it in the display list.
Type in the revised value(s) in the edit box(es), including in the DL/LL Ratio edit box.
Click the Modify button.
Delete button
Select the Curve from the drop-down list for which Curve Data is to be deleted.
Select the Trib Area and Red. Factor to be deleted by clicking on it in the display list.
Click the Delete button. Unlike the Delete Curve button, this button deletes only the selected curve data, not the entire Curve.
Display Curves button. In most cases, the Plots for Live Load Reduction Factor Curves display on the right side of the form will automatically update when the Add Curves button is clicked and when changes are made to the Trib Area and Red. Factor values for a selected curve. However, as required, click the Display Curves button to refresh the display.
Important Note: ETABS applies live load reduction to frame and link objects and wall-type shell objects only. It does not apply live load reduction to floor-type and ramp-type shell objects.

Access the Live Load Reduction Factor Curves form as follows:
Click the Design menu> Live Load Reduction command to access the Live Load Reduction Factor form.
Select the User-Defined Curves option.
Click the Define button.
