Draw Developed Elevation Definition

Form:  Elevation Name

Developed elevations can simultaneously show multiple faces of the building in a single "unfolded" elevation view. Use the following steps to draw a developed elevation, which can then be viewed, and if necessary, renamed:

  1. Set the active window to a Plan View using the Plan View button or the View menu > Set Plan View command.

  2. Click the Draw menu > Draw Developed Elevation Definition command.

  3. Left click in the active window to begin drawing a line that will define the developed elevation. The line defining the developed elevation may be multi-segmented, but it cannot cross itself or create an enclosure.

  4. At the last point defining the developed elevation, press the Enter key on the keyboard. The program will automatically switch the active view to  the developed elevation.

The program will assign a default name to the developed elevation. Rename the elevation as follows:

  1. Click the View menu > Set Elevation View command or the Elevation View button  to access the Set Elevation View form.

  2. On the Set Elevation View form, highlight the name of the Developed Elevation in the list of names on the form.

  3. Click the Change Name button to display the Elevation Name form.

  4. Type the revised name in the edit box and click the OK button. The revised named will be added to the list of elevation IDs on the Set Elevation View form.

To display the elevation under the revised named, highlight the revised name and click the Apply button. The view in the active window will update accordingly. The Set Elevation View form will remain open so that another elevation view can be selected. Click the Close button to close the form after viewing multiple elevation views. Alternatively, the OK button can be used to both update the active window and immediately close the form.
