Form: Set Elevation View
Click the View menu > Set Elevation View command or the Elevation View button to access the Set Elevation View form and select a specific elevation view.
Filter edit box. Use this edit box to narrow the list of available elevations. Use the Clear Filter button to restore the full list of elevations.
Include Grid Line Elevations check box. By default, the program defines elevation views along each of the grid lines in the model. With this check box is checked, these elevations are included in the display area. Uncheck the check box to eliminate those views from the list of available views.
Include User Elevations check box. The Draw menu > Draw Developed Elevation Definition command can be used to specify a "user elevation." When this check box is checked, the elevations drawn by the user, if any, will be included in the list. Uncheck the check box to eliminate those views from the list of available views.
To display a view, highlight the name in the display list and click the Apply button. The view in the active window will update accordingly. The Set Elevation View form will remain open so that another elevation view can be selected. Click the Close button to close the form after viewing multiple elevation views. Alternatively, the OK button can be used to both update the active window and immediately close the form.
Add at Ordinate button. Click this button to display the Add Elevation View at Ordinate form. Use the form to specify an elevation definition on the basis of a specified grid system and a specified X or Y ordinate.
Grid System drop-down list - select the grid system from which the elevation view is to be displayed.
X Ordinate option (Cartesian grid system) - displays the elevation view of the YZ plane in the specified grid system at the specified X ordinate.
Y Ordinate option (Cartesian grid system) - displays the elevation view of the XZ plane in the specified grid system at the specified Y ordinate.
Radial Ordinate option (Cylindrical grid system) - displays a developed elevation view in the specified grid system at the specified radial ordinate.
Tangential Ordinate option (Cylindrical grid system) - displays a view of the RZ plane in the specified grid system at the specified tangential ordinate.
Set Ordinate to Selected Joint Coordinate check box - is available if a joint is selected before the View menu > Set Elevation View command is executed. Clicking it automatically sets the elevation view at the selected joint.
Add at Selected Beam button. This button is enabled if a beam was selected before the View menu > Set Elevation View command was clicked. As the name implies, the program will add an elevation view on the basis of the selected beam.
Change Name button. Highlight an elevation ID in the list of available definitions and click this button to display the Elevation Name form. Type the revised name in the edit box and click the OK button. The revised named will be added to the list of available elevation IDs.
Note: If an elevation definition is added using the Add at Ordinate button (see above), the elevation name reflects the ID of the selected joint and cannot be changed. Similarly, if the elevation definition is added using the Add at Select Beam button (see above), the name of the elevation reflects the ID of the selected beam and cannot be changed.
Delete Elevation button. Highlight an elevation ID in the list of available definitions and click this button to delete the elevation definition.
Note If two or more windows are set to Plan or 3D View, the location of the developed elevation is illustrated with a cyan-colored line (default).
