Form: Groups
The Assign menu > Assign to Group command assigns a Group Name to selected objects. Grouping objects allows you to perform operations, such as make assignments (e.g., properties, loads, supports) simultaneously. Using a predefined group eliminates the needs to select the objects either individually or by windowing. Using groups also helps ensure that the operation is performed using the appropriate objects. All objects are part of the built-in group named “ALL,” and each object may be part of as many groups as needed.
Select one or more objects and click the Assign menu > Assign to Group command to access the Groups form.
Highlight a previously defined group name in the Group Name list to group the selected objects. If a group name has not previously been defined, enter a new name in the edit box adjacent to the asterisk.
Options area. Choose to add the selected objects to the specified group, replace the selected objects in the specified group, or delete the selected objects from the specified group.
Display Color and Change button. The color that will be used to display the groups is shown in this box. Click the Change button to access the Color form and select a revised color for displaying the items assigned to the Group, as necessary.
