Groups

Form: Groups

The Define menu > Groups command is used to identify names for groups of objects. Grouping objects allows properties to be assigned or operations to be performed on several objects simultaneously. Assigning objects to a group for use with the selected command is especially powerful. Use the command to add, change or delete a group name.

Click the Define menu > Groups command to bring up the Groups form. To add a new group name, type a name adjacent to the asterisk (*) in the Group Name list. To delete or modify an existing name, highlight a name in the Group name list, and hit the delete key or edit the name as necessary. The group name of ALL is a default name, and cannot be edited or removed. Specify a display color for the group as it is being defined.

After groups have been defined, use the Assign menu > Assign to Group command to assign selected objects to the group.

Note: Groups can also be accessed by expanding the tree under Groups on the Model tab in the Model Explorer window.
