Form: Point Displacement Loads
Use the Assign menu > Load Data > Point Displacements command to assign concentrated displacements to a selected point object.
Select one or more point objects (points need not be in the datum plane, i.e., you may select the ends of columns and walls).
Click the Assign menu > Load Data > Point Displacements command to access the Point Displacement Loads form. On that form, select a load pattern from the drop-down list; click the buttons to add, edit or review load patterns. In the Displacements area, specify the displacements and rotations in each of the six degrees of freedom. In the Options area, select from one of the following choices:
Add to Existing Loads: Adds the specified displacement to the point object. If one or more point displacement assignments have already been made, this option increases the total displacement on the point object, assuming you specify a positive displacement.
Replace Existing Load: Replaces the currently specified point displacement, if any, with the new point displacement assignment. If no assignment exists, the new assignment is still made. This is the default option. Note that only the displacements in the load pattern that is specified are replaced.
Delete Existing Loads: Deletes any and all point displacement assignments made to the selected point object(s). When this option is selected, the items in the Displacements area of the form are ignored when you click the button. Note that only the displacements in the load pattern that is specified are deleted.
The assignment will appear graphically on the screen. To remove the display, click the Assign menu > Clear Display of Assigns command.
Note: Displacements may be applied only to previously Restrained joints.
