Quick Draw Slabs/Areas

Form: Quick Draw Slabs/Areas

Toolbar button:

Use the Draw menu > Quick Draw Slabs/Areas command to add area objects to your model in regions bounded by grid lines, columns or beams. These areas can be assigned slab properties, openings, soil properties, or surface loads. This command works only in a plan view; it will not work with a 3D view.

Click the Draw menu > Quick Draw Slabs/Areas command to access the floating Quick Draw Slabs/Areas form, which displays the parameters for the area to be added, including Type of Object (Slab or Opening), Property (Drop, None, a previously defined slab property, or Stiff for Slab or Unloaded for Opening), and Draw Object Using (Grids, Points, Lines, Arch-Layer) to define the boundary of the area.

If needed, modify the displayed data by selecting from the drop-down lists before drawing areas. If the area object is being used for some reason other than defining a slab or opening, such as for adding soil properties or loads, select None from the Property drop-down list and then select the area object at a later time and use the Assign menu to assign the desired property.

The Draw menu > Quick Draw Slabs/Areas command displays the Quick Draw Slabs/Areas form; use that form as follows to place an area object in a plan view:

To exit the quick draw slab/area object mode, click on the Select Object button  or hit the Esc key to activate the select mode. Data associated with an area object can be reviewed and modified by right clicking on the area to access the {Type Area} Object Information form.
