Notes Form

Use the Material Notes,  Frame Section Property Notes, Tendon Section Notes, Cable Section Notes, Area Section Notes, Solid Property Notes, Link Notes,  Frequency Dependent Link Notes, Load Pattern Notes, Load Case Notes and Load Combination Notes forms to add notes to the model file. Type the notes directly into the large text box area.

The forms have several toolbar buttons for standard Windows type operations that can be used to manipulate the information posted to the notes. Those operations include the following:

The commands on the File, Edit, and Format menus generally duplicate the operations completed using the toolbar buttons.

 

Access the Notes form as follows:

Material Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Materials command to access the Define Material form. The form also can be accessed by clicking the + (plus) symbol that may appear next to a drop-down list of available materials, such as the Material drop-down list on the Shell Section Data form, or the {Frame Section Type} Data forms.

  2. Then do one of the following:

    • Click the Add New Material button to display the Material Property Data form.

    • Check the Show Advanced Properties check box and then click the Add New Material button to access the Material Property Options form.

  3. Click the Modify/Show Notes button.

Frame Section Property Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Section Properties > Frame Sections command, or select a frame object(s) and click the Assign menu > Frame > Frame Sections command, to access the Frame Properties form.

  2. Then do one of the following:

    • Click the Import New Property button to import a new section or the Add New Property button to add a new section, which will eventually access the {Section Type} form.

    • Highlight an existing section definition and click the Add Copy of Property or Modify/Show Property button to access the {Section Type} form.

  3. Click the Modify/Show Notes button.

Tendon Section Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Section Properties > Tendon Section command or select a tendon and click the Assign menu > Tendon >Tendon Sections command to access the Tendon Sections form. Note that when drawing a tendon section, the Tendon Sections form also displays when the Tendon Section Add or Show button is clicked on the Tendon Data for Line {ID} form.

  2. Then do one of the following:

    • Click the Add New Section button to access the Tendon Section Data form.

    • Select a previously defined Tendon in the Sections display list and click the Modify/Show Section button to access the Tendon Section Data form.

  3. Click the Section Notes Modify/Show button.

Cable Section Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Section Properties > Cable Section command or select a cable and click the Assign menu > Cable > Cable Sections command to access the Cable Sections form.

  2. Then do one of the following:

    • Click the Add New Section button to access the Cable Section Data form.

    • Select a previously defined Cable in the Sections display list and click the Modify/Show Section button to access the Cable Section Data form.

  3. Click the Section Notes Modify/Show button.

Area Section Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Section Properties > Area Section command or select an area and click the Assign menu > Area > Sections command to access the Area Sections form.

  2. Then do one of the following:

    • Click the Add New Section button to access the  Shell Section Data, Plane Section Data, or Axisymmetric Solid (Asold) Section data form.

    • Select a previously defined Area in the Sections display list and click the Modify/Show Section button to access the Shell Section Data form.

  3. Click the Section Notes Modify/Show button.

Solid Property Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Section Properties > Solid Properties command or select a solid and click the Assign menu > Solids >  Properties command to access the Solid Properties form.

  2. Then do one of the following:

    • Click the Add New Property button to access the Solid Property Data form.

    • Select a previously defined Solid in the Sections display list and click the Modify/Show Section button to access the Solid Property Data form.

  3. Click the Section Notes Modify/Show button.

Link Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Section Properties > Link/Support Properties command or select an object drawn as a link/support and click the Assign menu > Link/Support > Link/Support Properties command to display the Link/Support Properties form. The Link/Support Property Data form also can be accessed by clicking the + (plus) symbol that may appear next to a drop-down list of available link properties, such as the Link Property drop-down lists on the Assign Springs Along Line Object form.

  2. Then do one of the following:

    • Click the Add New Property button to access the Link/Support Property Data form.

    • Select a previously defined Link/Support property in the Properties display list and click the Modify/Show Property button to access the Link/Support Property Data form.

  3. Click the Modify/Show Notes button.

Frequency Dependent Link Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Section Properties > Frequency Dep. Link command or select a link and click the Assign menu > Link/Support > Frequency Dep. Link Props command to display the Define Frequency Dependent Links form or the Assign/Define Frequency Dependent Links form .

  2. Then do one of the following:

    • Click the Add New Property button to access the Frequency Dependent Link Property Data form.

    • Select a previously defined Frequency Dependent Link property in the Properties display list and click the Modify/Show Property button to access the Frequency Dependent Link Property Data form.

  3. Click the Modify/Show Notes button.

Load Case Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Load Cases command to display the Define Loads form.

  2. Click the Show Load Notes button.

Analysis Case Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Analysis Cases command to display the Analysis Cases form.

  2. Click the Add New Case button or highlight a previously defined case and click the Add Copy of Case or Modify/Show Case button to access the Analysis Case Data form.

  3. Click the Notes Modify/Show button.

Response Combination Notes Form

  1. Click the Define menu > Combinations command to display the Define Response Combinations form.

  2. Click the Add New Combo button or highlight a previously defined Combination in the Combinations list and click the Add Copy of Combo or Modify/Show Combo button to access the Response Combination Data form.

  3. Click the Notes Modify/Show button.
