Form: Design Load Combinations Selection
Click the Design menu > Steel Frame Design > Select Design Combo command to open the Design Load Combinations Selection form. It is not necessary to run the analysis or select an object before using the command; however, the program will not generate the code-generated automatic load combinations until at least one analysis and design iteration has been run, and therefore, the automatic load combinations will not be shown until design has been run. Use the form to review and modify the design load combinations used during design.
Load Combination Type selection box. Select the type of design combination to review or specify (i.e., Strength, Deflection).
Select Load Combinations area. All of the available design load combinations are listed in the List of Load Combinations list box. The design load combinations actually used in the design are listed in the Design Load Combinations list box. All three of the following buttons act on the highlighted design load combination in those two list boxes.
Use the Add and Remove buttons to move load combinations into and out of the Design Combos list box. Use the Ctrl and Shift keys to make multiple selections in this form for use with the Add and Remove buttons.
Use the Show button to review the definition of a design load combination.
Note: If a user-defined combination(s) is to be used in design, it must be selected as described herein, regardless of whether the combo was created manually (Define menu options) or if the combination(s) is based on code (Define menu, Add Default Design Combos button) The program automatically selects those combos that are created when the Automatically Generate Code-Based Design Load Combinations check box is checked (see next bullet). Note also that these automatically generated combos are regenerated (i.e., replaced) after each design run.
Automatically Generate Code-Based Design Load Combinations check box. When this check box is checked, the design load combinations generated based on the selected code (i.e., the code selected using the Design menu > Steel Frame Design > View/Revise Preferences command) are added to the List of Load Combinations.
Set Automatic Design Load Combination Data button. With the Automatically Generate Code-Based Design Load Combinations check box checked, click this button to access the Code Generated Automatic Load Combinations for {Code} form. Use that form to make changes to the automatically generated code-based design load combinations to be applied during model design.
The default steel frame design load combinations have names such as DSTL1, DSTL2 and so forth.
