The Access Database Import Log form has a large area that provides a summary of the import data, including the source file, the import type and options, the types of tables/data imported, and any error messages, warnings, or information used to help resolve conflicts between the imported data and the objects and other items present in an existing model or data that previously has been imported into a model.
Note: In the Database Import Summary Log area, the first entry likely will refer to the "Program Control Table." That table lists the name and version number of the program used to create the data being imported, the building codes used and the like. This table must be included with the data to be imported into SAP2000 or an error will occur.
Error button. When this button is clicked, SAP2000 will jump to the Error shown in the display area. An error should be investigated. It is likely that during the import SAP2000 will have skipped the record/data associated with the error because an error could cause the program to crash or introduce a critical error in the model geometry.
Warning button. When this button is clicked, SAP2000 will jump to the first Warning item shown in the display area. A Warning item advises you of situations that should be noted for further consideration.
Information button. When this button is clicked, SAP2000 will jump to the first Information item shown in the display area. An Information item indicates what actions SAP2000 took to resolve conflicts between the imported data and any existing or previously imported data.
Revert to Backup button. When data is being imported into an existing model, SAP2000 creates a backup file of the model before the data is imported. Click the Revert to Backup button if after reviewing any error messages, warnings, or information you decide not to complete the import. After this button is clicked, SAP2000 will display the model as it was before the most recent import process was initiated.
Note: The Revert to Backup button appears only when an error or warning has been identified in the import.
Write to Text File button. Click this button to generate a text file containing the text from the import log (i.e., the text shown in the display area of the form).
TIP: Use the Import Tabular Database Import Options form to adjust the import options. For example, use that form to change the number of errors allowed before the program aborts the import.
