Use the Import Tabular Database form to specify if the imported data should be used to create a model or be added to an existing model. The form also has a button that can be used to access a form for specifying how potential data conflicts should be resolved.
Choose where the data is to be imported:
New Model option. When this option is selected, SAP2000 will create a new model from the imported data. If an existing model is displayed on screen when this option is used, SAP2000 will prompt you to save it before importing the data to create a new model.
Add to Existing Model option. When this option is selected, SAP2000 will import the data into the model displayed on screen.
Click the Advanced Options button to control how SAP2000 resolves conflicts between imported data and data that is already present in the model. See Import - Tabular Database Import Options form for more information.
Click the OK button on the Import Tabular Database form to access an Import {Microsoft Access, Excel Spreadsheet, or SAP2000 Text} form.
Select the folder containing the file to be imported (.mdb, .xls, txt), and click on the desired file.
Click the Open button and SAP2000 will display the Access Database Import Log form. Review that form before completing the import.
