User discretization points allow specification of points along the span where the bridge object will be discretized. A skew also can be specified associated with the discretization point. The user discretization points supplement the discretization specified when the linked model is updated.
In most models it is not necessary to create user discretization points. The discretization specified when the linked model is updated is sufficient.
Use the Bridge Object Discretization Points form to add discretization points (i.e., breaks) to selected bridge spans.
Bridge Object Name display box. This display box identifies the bridge object to which the discretization point definition will be assigned.
Units drop-down list. Use the displayed units or select new units from the drop-down list.
Discretization Points Definition. Use the options in this area of the form to specify the span, location and bearing for the discretization point(s).
Span drop-down list. Select the Span to which the discretization point(s) is being added.
Distance edit box. Specify the location of the discretization point in the current length units, measuring from the beginning of the span.
Bearing edit box. Use this edit box to specify the bearing for the bridge deck mesh line at the specified discretization point.
Add button. With selections and entries made in the Span drop-down list and Distance and Bearing edit boxes, click the Add button to add the data to the discretization points definition.
Modify button. Highlight a previously defined definition, make the necessary changes and then click the Modify button to update the data.
Delete button. Highlight a previously defined definition and click the Delete button to remove the selected data.
