The bearing defines the orientation of abutments, bents, diaphragms, bridge deck mesh lines at the specified discretization point, and hinges (herein after collectively referred to as the "Items"). The bearing may be defined using any of the following methods:
Note: Methods 3 and 4 can be used to specify bearings for layout lines using the following forms: Bridge Layout Line Data form and Bridge Layout Line Horizontal Layout Data form.
Type in the word "Default." This orients the Items perpendicular to the bridge layout line.
Type in the word "Default" followed by an angle in degrees. For example, Default30, Default+23.77, and Default-5.31 are all acceptable designations for a bearing. The angle specified after the word Default indicates the deviation of the bearing of the Items from the default orientation defined using Method 1 above. Positive angles appear counter clockwise when looking down on the model in Plan view.
Type in a bearing such as N302753E, N30E, and so forth.
Type in an angle in degrees, such as 30, 17.27, or -23.9. This angle orients the Items from the East direction. Positive angles appear counter clockwise when looking down on the model in Plan view.
