Use the Bridge Layout Line - Horizontal Layout Data form to specify the horizontal alignment for the layout line.
Bridge Layout Line Name display box. This is not editable. It is the name of the layout line definition on the Bridge Layout Line Data form.
Coordinate System drop-down list. Use the drop-down list to select a coordinate system other than global if one has been defined (see Define Coordinate Systems/Grids for more information about defining a coordinate system).
Layout Line Segment Data area and Layout Line Segment Type drop-down list. The necessary data can be specified in this area using the following alternative approaches:
Select a segment type from the Layout Line Segment Type drop-down list, enter values in the Station, Radius and Bearing PI to EC edit boxes as appropriate, and then use the Insert Above, Insert Below, and Modify buttons to specify a segment or to modify a previously specified segment. The two defaults cannot be modified or deleted because they define the beginning and the end of the bridge. Adding segments to the layout line allows changes to the alignment of that original layout line. The options in the segment types drop-down list allow the segment to continue straight from the initial station and bearing to the next station; straight at a new bearing to the next station; curved to a new bearing with the curve specified in radians to the left or the right; and straight from the previous bearing to the end of the bridge. If data is entered incorrectly, an error message will pop up that identifies the error(s). Highlight a row of data and click the Delete button to remove that segment. Click the Delete All button to delete all segment entries except the defaults; CSiBridge will display a message box asking for confirmation that all entries are to be deleted.
Quick Start button. Click the Quick Start button to display the Horizontal Layout Line Data - Quick Start form, which has a number of options for the horizontal alignment. Select an option by clicking on it and then click the OK button, which will redisplay the Bridge Layout Line - Horizontal Layout Data form. The selected option will transfer automatically to the Layout Line Segment Data spreadsheet area where the actions described in the preceding bullet item can be used to modify the data.
Right click on a row of data in the Layout Line Segment Data spreadsheet to display the Modify Segment {Number} form. The form has options to adjust the Segment Parameters (i.e., Segment Type, End Station location, End Bearing, and Radius of Circle), divide the selected segment into a user-specified number of segments, or delete a segment. When the Modify Segment {Number} form is used, CSiBridge automatically adjusts the length of the segments to the right of the selected segment.
Note: These three alternative input approaches can be used together to achieve the desired alignment. For example, use the Quick Start button to initiate the layout using one of the templates. Then right click on a row of data to make program-assisted adjustments using the Modify Segment {Number} form. If further refinement is required, make direct entries to the Station, Radius and Bearing PI to EC edit boxes and use the Insert and Modify buttons to make the final adjustments, if necessary.
Units drop-down. Use the displayed units or use this drop-down list to change the units for the model.
Layout Line Plan View (X-Y Project) display area. The changes made to the segment data will automatically display in this area. Move the mouse pointer along the layout line in the display area and note that the data in the Station, Bearing, Radius, Grade, X, Y and Z edit or display boxes identifies the location of the mouse pointer along the layout line. With the exception of the Station edit box, the data is not editable. Enter a value in the Station edit box to specify a particular point along the layout line. If the display does not automatically update, click the Refresh Plot button.
