Form: Frame Assignment - Frame Floor Meshing Options
During analysis, ETABS automatically meshes (divides) shell objects that are assigned deck properties or slab properties with membrane behavior only. Meshing helps distribute loads realistically. See Wall Auto Mesh Options for more information.
The Assign menu > Frame > Frame Floor Meshing Options command provides additional control over meshing of floor objects on a frame-by-frame basis.
Select the frame objects to be included in the meshing.
Click the Assign menu > Frame > Frame Floor Meshing Options command to display the Frame Assignment - Frame Floor Meshing Options form.
Check the Include Selected Frame Objects in Mesh check box.
Click the Apply button to make the assignment. Any previously assigned spring properties will be replaced by this assignment.
When the Apply button is used, the Frame Assignment - Frame Floor Meshing Options form will remain open until it is closed by clicking the Close button. This allows selection of another frame object(s), to which a different assignments can be made.
If only one assignment is being made to only one set of selected objects, the OK button can be used to both apply the assignment and close the form.
View assignments to the element by right clicking on it to access the {Frame, Beam, Column, Brace} Information - Assignments Tab form.
