Form: New Labels
The labels in SAP2000 are alphanumeric. By default the program automatically assigns a numeric numbering scheme to the joints and objects. However, it is possible to assign an alphanumeric labeling scheme by giving an alpha prefix and a starting numeric sequence. All objects added after the scheme is initialized will be affected by the scheme.
Initialize a new labeling scheme as follows:
Click the Draw menu > New Labels command to display the New Labels form.
Prefix edit box. Enter a prefix for the labeling scheme for the joints, frames, areas, solids, and links.
Next Number edit box. Enter a starting number for the scheme. This number will be added to the prefix.
Increment edit box. Specify an increment for the numeric sequence
Use the appropriate Draw menu command to add joints, frames, cables, tendons, areas, and solids. The new labeling scheme will be applied to those objects added to the model following use of the Draw menu > New Labels command.
