Bent Bearing Overwrite Data Form

Use the Bent Bearing Overwrite Data form to specify the bearing property overwrites at specified girder number.

Note: Girders are numbered from left to right across the bridge object, as viewed from the Start of the bridge object looking towards the End of the bridge object.

Bent Span Name display box. Identifies if the span to which the bent is connected.
Girder/Bearing Number edit box. Specify the girder number where the overwrite applies.
Bearing Property Overwrites. Overwrites can be applied to the bearing property, the restrainer property, bearing elevation, and bearing angle.
- Bearing Property option and drop-down list. When this option is selected, use the drop-down list to select a revised property for the span bent. Alternatively, click the plus symbol (+) preceding the drop-down list to access the Define Bridge Bearings form, which can be used to define a new bearing or modify an existing bearing using the Bridge Bearing Data form.
- Bearing Property U2 option and drop-down list. This is only for a steel U girder with two bearings.
- Restrainer Property at Bearing option and drop-down list. When this option is selected, use the drop-down list to select a revised property for the restrainer cable for bent at the specified girder. Alternatively, click the plus symbol (+) preceding the drop-down list to access the Define Bridge Restrainer form, which can be used to define a new restrainer property definition or modify an existing one using the Bridge Restrainer Data form.
- Bearing Elevation (Global Z) option and edit box. Use this edit box to overwrite the elevation of the bearing for the bent at the specified girder.
- Bearing Rotation Angle from Bridge Default option and edit box. Specify an angle of rotation for the bearing from its original default position.
- Number of Bearings per U Girder option and drop-down list. When this option is selected, use the drop-down list to select the number of bearings per U girder.
- Bearing Offset from Section Ref. Point option and edit box. Specify a offset for the bearing from the bridge section reference point to the target position in the bent skew direction.

Access the Bent Bearing Overwrite Data form as follows:

Method 1

At a minimum, create a Layout Line and define a Deck Section.
Add a bent definition.
Click the Bridge > Bridge Objects > Expand arrow, or on the Bridge Wizard select the Bridge Object Definitions item and click the Define/Show Bridge Object button, to display the Define Bridge Objects form.
- Alternatively, bypass the Define Bridge Objects form by clicking the Bridge > Bridge Objects > New command and go directly to the Bridge Object Data form identified in the next step.
Click the Add New Bridge Object, or highlight a previous bridge object definition and click the Add Copy of Bridge Object or Modify/Show Bridge Object button, to display the Bridge Object Data form.
With the Bridge Object Data form displayed, click the Bents items in the Modify/Show Assignments area of that form and click the Modify/Show button. Alternatively, on the Bridge Wizard, select the Bents item in the Bridge Object Assignments area and click the Assign/Show Bents button to access the Bridge Object Bent Assignments form.
Click the Girder-by-Girder/Bearing-by-Bearing Bearing Overwrites Modify/Show Overwrites button to access the Grider-By-Girder Bridge Bents Overwrites (Bearing) form.
Click the Add New Overwrite button, or highlight an existing overwrite and click the Add Copy of Overwrite or Modify/Show Overwrite button, to access the Bent Bearing Overwrite Data form.

Method 2

Click the Bridge > Update > Update Linked Model command, or on the Bridge Wizard highlight the Update Linked Model item and click the Update Linked Model button, to display the Update Bridge Structural Model form.
Click the Modify/Show Selected Object button to display the Bridge Object Data form.
In the Modify/Show Assignments display list, highlight the Bents item and click the Modify/Show button to display the Bridge Object Bents Definition form.
Click the Girder-by-Girder/Bearing-by Bearing Bearing Overwrites Modify/Show Overwrites button to access the Girder-By-Girder/Bearing-by-Bearing Bridge Bents Overwrites (Bearing) form.
Click the Add New Overwrite, or highlight an existing overwrite and click the Add Copy of Overwrite or Modify/Show Overwrite button, to access the Bent Bearing Overwrite Data form.
