Frame Properties

Form:  Frame Properties

Defining a frame section makes the section available for use in defining deck sections, bridge bents and columns, bridge diaphragms and bridge abutments for a continuous beam type substructure. Frame section also can be assigned to selected frame objects. The Components > Type > Frame Properties > Expand arrow command and the Advanced > Assign > Frames > Sections command can be used to (a) import sections from predefined databases, (b) define frame section properties on the basis of their dimensions, (c) review and modify section properties, and (d) delete section properties.

TIP:  The Frame Properties form also displays when the Define/Show Frame Sections button is clicked on the Bridge Wizard when Step 3.2 Frame Sections is highlighted.

  1. Click the Components > Type > Frame Properties > Expand arrow command to display the Frame Properties form. The Properties area of that form lists the names of all of the currently defined frame section properties; CSiBridge automatically creates this list.

Note:  The Frame Properties form also displays when the + (plus) symbol associated with the Cap Beam Section drop-down list on the Bridge Bent Data form or the Beams and Columns drop-down lists on the {Beam, 2D Frames} forms is clicked when a New Model is being created or a when a {Beam, 2D Frames} is being added to a model.

  1. Use the following buttons on the Frame Properties form to import or add sections to the list, modify previously defined sections, or delete sections from the list.

Note: Frame sections that are currently assigned to any deck sections or superstructure items in the model or that are used to define other frame section properties, such as nonprismatic sections, cannot be deleted.
