The right mouse button has the following uses in ETABS. For all other mouse functions, use the left mouse button.
Right click on an object in a display window to open a form with information about that object ({Slab, Deck, Wall} Information, {Frame, Beam, Column, Brace} Information, Joint Object Information). The type of information shown depends on what is right clicked.
Right click on nodes and subnodes of the Model Explorer to access an action or a menu of actions.
Right click the spreadsheet area of the Story Data form to display a drop-down list of commands that can be used to copy and paste data on the form; add or delete a story in the model; and set story names to default names.
Right click in the background (not on an object) of a display window to access a menu of selected commands that includes the following:
Lock OnScreen Grid System Edit - This is a toggle that locks or unlocks on-screen editing of the grid system.
Invert Visibility of Objects - If objects are visible in the active window when this command is clicked, they will become invisible. Conversely, if objects are not shown in the active window when this command is clicked, for example after the use of the View Selected Object only command, those hidden objects will become visible and the selected objects will become hidden.
Hide Selected Objects -The selected objects will be hidden from view.
Restore Visibility of Previous Selection - The previously selected objects will be visible. This command undoes the action of the Hide Selected Objects command.
Snap Options - The Snap Options form will display.
Graphics Preferences -- The Graphics Preferences form will display with options to change the Font and the line thickness. The percentages/sizes for the Auto Zoom Step and the Shrink Factor for Lines Object also can be reviewed/revised.
