Draw Points

Form: Draw Points

Use the Draw menu > Draw Points command to add point objects to the model that can be assigned point springs, point restraints, point displacements, or point loads. Springs, restraints and loads can be assigned to point objects by selecting the objects and using the Assign menu. In addition to the points drawn by the user, SAFE automatically adds points/joints to the ends of all other line and area object types.

Click the Draw menu > Draw Points command to access the floating Draw Points form that displays edit boxes for Plan Offset X and Plan Offset Y. Use the Plan Offset X and Plan Offset Y parameters to locate the point a certain distance from where you click.

To place a point object in the model, click on a grid intersection or at any other location on the model datum plane; points can be drawn only on the datum plane, so working in a plan view is usually best. Each subsequent click will add another point object.

To exit the draw point mode, click on the Select Object button  or hit the Esc key to activate the select mode. Data associated with a point object can be reviewed and modified by right clicking on the point to access the Point Object Information form.
