The Edit menu > Copy command or Ctrl+C shortcut key in SAFE works similar to the copy command in other Windows-based programs. Selecting an object(s) and clicking the Copy command or Ctrl+C shortcut key will temporarily store a copy of the selected item(s) on the program clipboard where it is available for pasting. The Copy command copies only the geometry of the selected objects – it does not copy assignments or loads. Unlike the Cut command, the Copy command leaves the original object in place.
Any selected part or the entire model may be copied and then pasted into a SAFE model at any user-specified location.
It is also possible to copy and paste the model geometry into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, and then modify the spreadsheet data before copying (using Excel) and pasting the modified data back into SAFE.
